There are times when the restrictions of government organizations or too stringent and incredibly annoying with no real solid reason for existing. I am sure this is true for a great number of restrictions that get ignored in industrial, commercial and residential contexts everyday. Personally, I think that a complete stop at a stop sign is not always necessary when you are the only one on the road. However, there are restrictions that must be followed at all times for the health of the general public, and I am very happy that such regulations are enforced. FDA approved pallets may not sound like something the public should care about, but when you consider that pallets carry our food and beverages from their origin to the grocery store, and whatever is on those pallets gets into our food and then our personal systems, we should care a lot.
The Food and Drug Administration Agency (FDA) is responsible for ensuring that a variety of products having to do with food, beverages and pharmaceuticals are up to code. This is in the interest of the public since we are the ones that suffer if bacteria or disease infect an object that infects a product that infects us.
Plastic pallets are used to transport such a wide variety of food, beverage and pharmaceutical products, as well as tools related to the super sanitary medical field, that they must be FDA approved. With numerous custom pallets designed for specific applications, the FDA must and does stay on top of what is being used to ship products from one end of the country to another. Export pallets have even higher standards since they are being shipped overseas and diseases from other countries can be even more dangerous then bacteria in milk or vegetables from the US. Regardless of where it is going or coming from, the important fact is that FDA approved pallets are made from sanitary plastic and designed in such a way that they keep the products traveling within or on top of them safe for our consumption.
